IC Certification

Home - IC Certification

IC is the abbreviation of Industry Canada, a government agency responsible for the certification matters of electronic and electrical products entering the Canadian market. The products it is responsible for are roughly divided into: radio and television equipment, information technology equipment, radio equipment, telecommunications equipment, industrial, scientific and medical equipment, etc.

Similar to the FCC in the United States, IC currently only imposes restrictions on electromagnetic interference.

Certification Methods:
Two certification methods can be adopted: self-verification and Certification.
IC ID: CN (Company Number, up to 6 digits) + UPN (Unique Product Number, up to 8 digits).

Notes for ID Application:

1. The address information of the Canadian representative must be provided.

2. The label should include the following information (manufacturer's name or trademark, model name, IC ID number).

Relevant Standards for IC Certification:
The standards for IC certification are basically the same as those of the FCC. IC currently only imposes restrictions on electromagnetic interference.
ICES-001 Analog Equipment: Industrial, Scientific and Medical Radio Frequency Generators
ICES-003 Digital Terminal Equipment: Interference-Causing Equipment Standards-Digital Apparatus, such as ICES003: ITE: products and office equipment around computers, etc.
IC RSS Series Transmitting and Receiving Equipment, Low-Power Radio Frequency Products. For example: RSS 210, applicable products: wireless mice and keyboards, wireless remote control toys, and various low-power radio frequency products, CS03 (Telecommunication Terminal Products PSTN).
