I. Introduction to CB Certification

The CB Scheme is an international certification system established by the International Electrotechnical Commission's System for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrical Equipment (IECEE). It aims to assist participating countries and certification bodies in establishing multilateral agreements to mutually recognize the test reports issued by each other. Currently, there are more than 50 member countries in this system. The National Certification Body (NCB) under the CB Scheme tests your products in the laboratory audited by the IEC. As long as the products meet the standards, the CB certificate and CB report documents of the products will be issued. Customers can submit these documents to the NCB of any member country under the CB Scheme to further apply for the national - level certification permission of that country.

III. Functions of CB Certification

1. Conversion of foreign certification certificates
If you have obtained the CB test certificate and CB test report, you can directly apply for the certification certificates of other countries. The certification body of the country being applied to will review the CB test certificate and report (including the report on relevant national differences) (if necessary, a small number of samples need to be provided). If the review result is qualified, you can obtain the certification of that country without additional testing according to the regulations and procedural rules of the country being applied to.

2. Conversion of Chinese national certification certificates
According to the CB test report and the difference test, a Chinese national product certification report is issued, so as to obtain the mandatory or other voluntary certification certificates of electrical products in China.

3. Direct recognition or approval by other countries
With the CB test certificate and CB test report, your products can be directly exported to some countries.

4. Cost and time savings
Before domestic enterprises apply for foreign certifications, if they apply for the CB test certificate in China, since the test is carried out in the domestic CB testing laboratory, not only can a lot of costs be saved, but also the turnover time for sample delivery and document delivery is saved. Domestic enterprises can obtain the CB test certificate as soon as possible.

5. Increased certainty of product test pass
If an enterprise has obtained the CB test certificate, when applying for the certifications of other countries, all or most of the CB test results are recognized, and re - sample testing can be exempted or reduced, which also saves time and costs. More importantly, the product applying for certification has undergone CB testing in China, which increases the certainty of the product passing the difference test.

IV. Documents Required for CB Certification

1. Product instruction manual.

2. Safety design documents (including the key structure diagram, that is, the design drawing that can reflect the creepage distance, clearance, number of insulation layers and thickness).

3. Product technical conditions (or enterprise standards).

4. Product electrical schematic diagram.

5. Product circuit diagram.

6. List of key components or raw materials (please select the products with European certification marks).

7. Copy of the certificate of the whole machine or components.

8. Other required documents.

Remarks:

1. The relevant documents and materials should be in both Chinese and English.

2. To shorten the certification cycle, it is recommended to provide the materials in electronic document form.

3. During the certification process, in view of some special circumstances, the enterprise may be required to submit other additional relevant materials.

V. Application Process of CB Certification

The applicant can be the manufacturer or its agent / agency. The application can cover one or more factories in one or several countries where the product is manufactured. Note: According to the regulation that the applicant will be the holder of the CB certificate, if the applicant is the agent of the manufacturer, the holder of the CB test certificate will be the agent of the manufacturer.
The applicant fills in the "Pre - application Letter for CB Test Certificate of Electrical Products", including the following contents:

1. Name and address of the applicant;

2. If the applicant is not the manufacturer, the name and address of the manufacturer should be provided;

3. Name and address of one / more factories manufacturing the product;

4. Name, specification model and identification of the product;

5. Registration certificate of the applicant (for the first application);

6. Technical data of the product (if necessary);

7. Mailing address, telephone number and fax number of the contact person.
The CB issuing organization will review the application materials. After accepting the application, the applicant will receive the formal "CB Test Application Form". The "CB Test Application Form" is required to be filled in English in duplicate.
